What kind of game is Light Work?
The Steam store page describes a first-person experience set at the end of a long workday. Before you can go home you have to turn off all of the lights on each floor of the office, riding the elevator between floors. Coworkers are still in the building, and the listing tells you to watch for unusual behaviour: if one of them starts to approach, go back to the elevator and close the door.
Steam files it under Adventure, Indie and Free To Play. Player-applied tags add Horror, Survival Horror, Walking Simulator, First-Person and Surreal. The rules are covered step by step in how to play Light Work.

Who made Light Work?
Thinking of Z is listed as both developer and publisher. The support link on the Steam listing goes to thinkingofz.com, a personal blog under the same name. Its October 2023 post, “I made a game”, describes an earlier project: a tower-defence game in the survivor-like style, built after a 20-hour online course.
Steam lists no separate game website, Discord server or social accounts. The developer’s only post outside Steam so far is a 27-second gameplay trailer on YouTube, published on October 9, 2026. No news posts had appeared on the Steam Community Hub by October 11.
Is this the Roblox or itch.io game called Light Work?
No. Several unrelated games share the name, which makes search results confusing; it is also often typed as one word, “Lightwork”. This guide covers the Steam game only. The Roblox game is by far the most played of the others, and has its own page here.
